Mary Grace T. Silvestre is a 35-year-old single woman from the Philippines (Barangay Gupa, Dipaculao, Aurora). She has four siblings and ranks fourth in her family. She is fluent in English and can speak, underst and, and read it well. She is willing to care for infants, children, and the elderly in Singapore. She is also eager to learn other cuisines and knows some simple Chinese dishes, such as stir-fried vegetables, pork rib soup, steamed fish and pork belly with black sauce.
Grace went back to the Philippines for her vacation, as she had not been back for many years while working in Singapore and caring for her niece and nephew, who are staying with her.
Grace worked for two employers, each for five years, during her early days in the Philippines. Her first employer required her to care for an infant from three months to four years old, while her second employer involved caring for a two-year-old and performing household chores for both families.
Grace has a congenital hand disability and has only two fully formed fingers on her right hand, but it doesn’t affect her ability to care for infants, children, and the elderly.
Grace is available for video and phone interview.
