I met up with the boss of Housekeepers' Agency, and was pleasantly surprised by one of their initiatives. The agency hosts a buffet every month for its maids to gather and interact.

When you are miles away from your country, with an off day once a week (or monthly), gatherings like this help them meet and bond. Even though the maid is "transacted", she keeps in contact with the agency and her friends, and gets free food at the event.
With these gatherings, the maid's social well-being is looked after. Happy maid, happy employer.
