Is your Myanmar helper's passport expiring soon?
Friends, renewing it at the Myanmar Embassy in Singapore is pretty straightforward... once you know the steps.
Step 1: Request an Appointment on WhatsApp
The notice posted at the embassy gate.
Walk-ins aren't accepted.
Your helper sends her request by WhatsApp to the embassy hotline at 8246 8581.
The embassy only accepts requests from helpers who fit one of 2 cases:
Requests that don't fit either case are ignored.
The embassy won't reply... so don't keep re-sending messages.
They approve 30 applicants a day, in the order requests come in.
The shortlist goes up on the embassy website every Thursday after 5pm.
On her given date, she brings all the documents in Step 2.
Step 2: Prepare the Documents
- The completed renewal form (from myanmarembassy.sg/consular)
- Two passport-sized photos
- Photocopies of her current passport and work permit
- Cash in SGD for the fees. No cards or PayNow, so bring the exact amount.
