You must pay your FDW the monthly salary which you declare to us. You must pay the salary within seven days of the month end.

You have to declare the specific monthly salary which your FDW will be getting.

When to make payment

You have to pay your FDW her salary each month, at most seven days after the last day by which the salary is meant to be paid.

Ensure that the period of the salary does not pass one month.

Try every possible means not to owe your FDW because it can lead to serious misunderstandings if the employment relationship gets spoilt or if any of the parties decides to put an end to the employment prematurely. To avoid unnecessary misunderstandings, let your FDW manage her salary.

How to make payment

You can make a direct deposit into your FDW’s Singapore bank account. Let your FDW keep the bank book.

Ensure to keep the record of the salaries if they’re paid in cash and make sure you produce the record if needed. To confirm that payment is made, both you and your FDW should sign the record.

Adjustments of salary

Consider raising the salary of your FDW periodically due to good performance in service as well as loyalty.

It would also be a good idea to give your FDW a contract gratuity. This payment can be made to your FDW whenever her contract with you ends.

One of the things that could motivate her to perform very well is the incentive which the two of you agree on.
